A photo of Donna's Art Studio with works
You'll find Donna Drouin staring at flowers and stars, photographing
details, trying to develop an understanding of how and why, standing,
amazed at the beauty with which God creates. This is what
printmaker/painter/sticker/ doodler Donna tries to get across in her
work, an essence of wonder at the universe that we inhabit, her love of
God and an understanding of science, all together in one place. Donna
uses layers of under painting to build up rich tones in her paintwork,
the same way a printmaker uses layers of colours to build an image.
A prolific sketchbook filler, she treats these as a resource and a daily
journal, collecting surfaces, textures and architectural details to work
into her prints like a secret language. FaceBook Page
Laura-Jane found at a very young age that she had an ability and keen
interest for drawing and painting which led her to study it further in
her education. She graduated with a BA Hons Fine Art degree at Lincoln
University in 2012 and since then has set up her own art practice.
Laura-Jane is currently running an art group once a week and gives
demonstrations within the group on how to draw and paint, encouraging
them on their artistic journey.
The world around Laura-Jane inspires her and she loves to draw and paint
a variety of subjects which include people, animals, landscapes and
still life. These are created through a range of media that includes,
coloured pencils, acrylic, water-soluble oils and pastels. This
exhibition is a collection of recent artwork.
Laura-Jane has previously participated in exhibitions in Bottesford, Sleaford, Lincoln, Broadstairs and Cirencester.
She is a regular volunteer and exhibitor at Carre Gallery in Sleaford
and is participating in a joint exhibition there with one other artist
later this year from 1st – 13th October.
